What is plastic injection molding?
Plastic injection molding is one of the most widely used methods for creating plastic parts due to its efficiency and versatility.
Raw plastic material is melted in the injection unit to form a molten mixture. The molten plastic is injected rapidly into the mold under high pressure. The plastic material is cooled by circulating water through the mold to transfer and remove the heat from the steel mold, the part solidifies as cooled, the mold opens and the part is ejected from the cavity of the mold.
The entire cycle is completed in seconds and can be repeated continuously.

The Key Steps In Injection Molding

The mold is secured shut using hydraulic pressure to ensure proper alignment.
Screw Recovery

Plastic material is fed into the barrel and heated to the desired temperature as it moves toward the screw tip.
Injection

The screw pushes the molten plastic into the mold cavity under high pressure.
Cooling

Water flows through channels in the mold to remove heat and solidify the part.
